Wakefield Council would like hear your feedback on the proposed design of a brand-new public artwork for Ossett, to be installed on the side of Richmond's Butchers in the Market Square.
The new design aims to celebrate iconic landmarks, symbols and patterns that make Ossett a truly unique town with its characterful, colourful historic markets and architectural forms making its mark across the Yorkshire skyline. The artist has worked hard to consider public feedback and additional input from other contributors including ourselves, Ossett Through the Ages, Ossett Civic Society, local councillors and Wakefield Council Conservation Officers.
See the design in Ossett Library from 13 to 20 September and share your thoughts.
Your comments on the final design will be considered by the artist in preparation for a planning application being submitted later this year.
This mural project is part of the legacy of Our Year - Wakefield District 2024 kindly supported with investment from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Arts Council England.
